The pollination process culminates when pollen is deposited on the stigma of the recipient flower, which initiates fertilization. During this stage, a pollen tube is formed that travels from the stigma and style to the ovary of the flower.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el caso del cerezo existen variedades autocompatibles (o autof\u00e9rtiles), como <em>Lapins, Santina, Skeena<\/em> and <em>Staccato<\/em>, y autoincompatibles (o autoinf\u00e9rtiles), como <em>Regina, Kordia<\/em> and <em>Bing<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las variedades autocompatibles son capaces de fecundarse con su propio polen; sin embargo, la autofertilidad no garantiza por s\u00ed sola un alto porcentaje de cuaja, ya que existen variedades con potencial de cuaja bajo, medio y alto. Por su parte, en las variedades autoincompatibles, aun cuando el polen germina en el estigma, la incompatibilidad en el estilo de la flor impide la fecundaci\u00f3n del \u00f3vulo, lo que obliga a garantizar la transferencia cruzada de polen para lograr una adecuada polinizaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Independientemente del tipo de variedad, el movimiento de polen ya sea entom\u00f3filo (por insectos) o anem\u00f3filo (por viento), es indispensable para una fecundaci\u00f3n eficiente. Por ello, resulta cr\u00edtico considerar tanto la fecha de floraci\u00f3n como la compatibilidad de polen entre variedades (Cuadro 1).<br><br><strong>Table 1.<\/strong> Ventana de floraci\u00f3n y cosecha para las principales variedades de cerezos plantados en Chile. Avium 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"468\" height=\"214\" src=\"https:\/\/smartcherry.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Cuadro-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49264\" style=\"width:556px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/smartcherry.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Cuadro-1.png 468w, https:\/\/smartcherry.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Cuadro-1-300x137.png 300w, https:\/\/smartcherry.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Cuadro-1-18x8.png 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Asimismo, los grupos de incompatibilidad y los genotipos se clasifican seg\u00fan su \u00e9poca de floraci\u00f3n en temprana, media y tard\u00eda (Cuadro 2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Table 2.<\/strong> Grupos de incompatibilidad de variedades de cerezo y \u00e9pocas de floraci\u00f3n (Negueroles y W\u00fcnsch, 2019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"468\" height=\"510\" src=\"https:\/\/smartcherry.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Cuadro-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49267\" style=\"width:634px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/smartcherry.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Cuadro-2.png 468w, https:\/\/smartcherry.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Cuadro-2-275x300.png 275w, https:\/\/smartcherry.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Cuadro-2-11x12.png 11w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Es importante destacar que todas las variedades autof\u00e9rtiles comparten el Alelo S4\u00a8, lo que entrega car\u00e1cter de compatibilidad gen\u00e9tica total y dador universal de polen para cualquier otra variedad; sin embargo, independiente de dicha caracter\u00edstica, las variedades a polinizar deben coincidir en el mismo momento de la floraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Factores para una buena polinizaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.1. Condiciones clim\u00e1ticas<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El clima es un factor determinante en el \u00e9xito de la polinizaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bajas temperaturas durante floraci\u00f3n pueden reducir el cuajado, debido a menor actividad de polinizadores y lento crecimiento del tubo pol\u00ednico (Thompson y Liu, 1973).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Temperaturas altas aceleran la degeneraci\u00f3n de estigmas y \u00f3vulos, disminuyendo la tasa de cuaja (Hedhly, Hormaza y Herrero, 2004).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Radiaci\u00f3n solar directa (sobre 300 W m<sup>-2<\/sup>) en las piqueras es clave para estimular el vuelo de las abejas y asegurar su actividad polinizadora.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Aunque estos factores no siempre son controlables, la instalaci\u00f3n oportuna de colmenas y el uso de variedades polinizadoras compatibles desde el inicio de la floraci\u00f3n pueden mitigar en gran medida sus efectos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.2. Gesti\u00f3n ap\u00edcola y normativa vigente<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La industria frut\u00edcola chilena ha desarrollado iniciativas conjuntas para optimizar la eficiencia de la polinizaci\u00f3n, entre ellas el Manual del Polinizador, elaborado por ANPROS, FEDEFRUTA y RAN F.G., que establece buenas pr\u00e1cticas y normativa vigente:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Normativa (Resoluci\u00f3n Exenta N\u00b0 8.196\/2015)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Declarar anualmente la existencia de apiarios ante el SIPEC durante octubre.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mantener un registro interno de movimientos de colmenas, con identificaci\u00f3n de apiarios, procedencia, fechas de instalaci\u00f3n y retiro.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Seguridad en el manejo de colmenas<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preferir el traslado de colmenas de noche o madrugada, asegurando ventilaci\u00f3n adecuada y carga estibada.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contar con botiqu\u00edn de primeros auxilios con antihistam\u00ednicos y ant\u00eddotos inyectables.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evitar inspecciones el mismo d\u00eda del traslado para reducir agresividad de las abejas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Par\u00e1metros de calidad de colmenas (Norma Chilena 3255 \u2013 2011)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Minimum 8 frames with bees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2265 3,5 marcos con cr\u00eda (1,5 abiertos y 2 cerrados).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Free of pests and diseases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2265 50 abejas\/minuto ingresando por piquera.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>2.3. Instalaci\u00f3n y manejo en el predio<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ingreso de colmenas en estado fenol\u00f3gico de bot\u00f3n blanco (figura 1).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Entregar al apicultor mapa con ubicaci\u00f3n y n\u00famero de colmenas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Garantizar fuentes de agua cercanas (o instalar bebederos).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mantener colmenas en lugares secos, soleados y sobre estructuras que las a\u00edslen del suelo.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evitar tr\u00e1nsito excesivo de personal y aplicar agroqu\u00edmicos en la tarde\/noche.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Figure 1.<\/strong> Bot\u00f3n Blanco. Durante la Polinizaci\u00f3n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Verificar que las colmenas no reciban agua del riego u otras fuentes cercanas.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Si el lugar est\u00e1 h\u00famedo, solicitar al apicultor que cambie la ubicaci\u00f3n de la colmena.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prevent agricultural personnel from passing near the beehives.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prefer the application of agrochemicals during the afternoons or nights.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not handle bees without the beekeeper&#039;s permission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>2.5. Control en Terreno de la Polinizaci\u00f3n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The distance between groups of hives should not exceed 200 meters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid installing hives on roads with high pedestrian or vehicular traffic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hives should not be in direct contact with the ground; they should be mounted on pallets, trestles or other structures that isolate them from the ground, weeds and attacks by ants or rodents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prefer dry and sunny places to set up the hives, which encourages the bees to work better.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Aplicaci\u00f3n de Polen Dirigido<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Estas t\u00e9cnicas no reemplazan el uso de abejas o abejorros.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify areas of the orchard with setting problems to increase the number of hives and pollen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pollen must be kept in the cold chain, with temperatures between -15\u00baC and -10\u00baC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ask the supplier to ensure that the pollen dose corresponds to the amount that will be used during the day to avoid unnecessarily defrosting pollen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not apply pollen directly after removing it from the freezer; it is better to gradually raise its temperature.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify hives with increased activity; it is recommended to use only 50% from hives for application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Figure 2<\/strong>.
